How green are you?

Today, the contamination in the world is an important issue that the society has by resolves.

First, the people have to informed about this theme and its consequence, and learn about environmentally friendly practices, for example, recycle technique, recycle place, reuse material, etc.

In relation to my experience, I have incorporating the recycle in my habits and in the habits my family, friends and close people. I installing a recipient in the garden for throw out the recyclables objects and explaining the importance of recycling.

To reduce my carbon footprint, I utilize fabric bag to go the shopping, biodegradable bags for trash, low energy bulbs, bottle with filter, I wet the ground before to sweep, I recycle, I shut the faucet when drips, I make the most of natural light, and for transport me, I like walk or use the bicycle instead of a car.

On the other hand, I know about eco-organizations, but I have not joined or support some it. Because to help the environment not necessary belong to eco-organization.

In our society missing that the people become aware regarding this issue and its importance. If we do something today, the consequence will live the future generations. The society should begin to make actions and not only speak about the issue, begin for house with little actions, for example, use the low energy bulbs.

And you, how green are you?

My future job

Today, I will write about my future job.

I would like to work in pre-school education teacher, especially with babies (from 3 month until 2 years old), altogether with their fathers and mothers. Because, in this age, is very important the wonk with the family.

I imagine my in a kindergarten or public school located in the south of Chile, for example, Valdivia, Osorno or Puerto Mott City, it have a big playground, orchard, spacious rooms, with lot of material and decorated by children, where children will are the center of everything, where they will are appreciated as people and not as objects, and where they can have the freedom to explore its environment.

I would like work with children in inside the classroom but also in outside it. I could go out on field trips with my students, know new places, public spaces, parks, museums, etc. Because the children learn in every moment, in any time they explore, investigate, observed, acquire new know.

I would like have the possibility of travel in my future job, travel to different countries for I can observe the different education vision, learn new didactic techniques and look for new ideas for my profession.

Finally, I would like in my future job, every day continue learning as by best professional.

My Experience in the Educational field.

Today I will write about my experience in the Educational field.

In my career we have the possibility of doing practice since first semester and every semester; this allows us to have experience in the field of education since the beginning of the career.

In my fourth year’s career, I have had experience in nursery school, kindergarten and school (as much as private establishment, as public schools), in different levels (nursery school, pre-kindergarten, multigrade pre-school, kindergarten, first grade and second grade) and different methodology (Montessori, Waldorf and traditional education).

In my experiences, I had to deal with different difficulties, for example, the high number of children in the class, the different learning speed, and differences among intellectual levels. Particularly in elementary education, I’ve seen the high level of pressure under the teachers, because the ministry of education and school directors believes that teachers have to teach faster, without thinking about the learning processes. This has been increased by the SIMCE test.

Despite the difficulties, I love it my future work, because (As I said in a previous post), I like working with people, especially with the more little, I like the energy that the children have, their happiness and imaginations and I can see their emotions in their eyes. The children have no fear to say their thoughts, if something bothers them, they demonstrate it.

Cultural Shock

Today, I will write about cultural shock
Every day we live with people different from ourselves. This is already part of a culture shock as each person has a different culture. This concept, always linked to the countries, but within a country, a city and even a family are different cultures.

For my future profession I had many experiences of culture shock. My greatest experience was in a school located in Santiago Centro commune, its name is Republica de Alemania. In this school, there are children of different nationalities: Peruvians, Colombians, Bolivians, Ecuadorians, Haitians and Chileans, with 50% of foreign students enrolled.

In this school I was specifically with children in 1st grade, the ambient was a lot of violence and constant jokes about the color of skin and / or nationality, finishing on occasion in blows.

So in this context was very marked difference of cultures, having to work on the contrary, for example, the similarities between us, that we all have feelings and deserve respect and affection.

In this experience I felt fruitless because I didn’t know what to do to help the children, to avoid the cultural shock
